Premier Community HealthCare Group, Inc is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that serves Pasco and Hernando Counties in Florida. They opened their first location, East Pasco Health Center, in 1979 and have grown to serve more than 36,000 patients through 13 physical locations and two mobile dental units.
In 2019, Premier participated in a community needs assessment and found that behavioral health, access to health services, and dental health were among the top priorities in Pasco County. Premier began developing a plan to expand services in Pasco County to help address these needs.
In 2022, in response to the community needs assessment, Premier closed on $18.5 million in project financing that included New Markets Tax Credit and debt. PCDC, joined by other CDFIs and CDEs, supported the transaction through $16.5MM of NMTC and $1.9MM loans. The total financing package will enable Premier to replace two outdated locations with new facilities that will feature behavioral and dental services, as well as enhanced women’s health and on-site labs facilities. Most importantly, the sites will enable Premier to nearly double its primary care capacity, from 8,869 to 12,682 patients.
