Many of the most vulnerable patients face significant barriers to engagement and retention in care, such as difficulty navigating payment options, lack of transportation to medical appointments, and treatment fatigue from taking a daily regimen of antiretroviral therapy, sometimes for decades. To receive the full benefits of treatment, it is important for patients to remain engaged and retained in medical care.
