Reproductive Health & Primary Care: Challenges and Opportunities in Integration
Co-hosted by Primary Care Development Corporation (PCDC), in partnership with the Bureau of Maternal, Infant and Reproductive Health (BMIRH), NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH), in collaboration with Public Health Solutions (PHS), Reproductive Health Access Project (RHAP), Community Health Center Association of New York (CHCANYS) and Planned Parenthood of New York City (PPNYC), “Reproductive Health & Primary Care: Challenges & Opportunities in Integration” addressed the challenges and opportunities primary care providers face integrating reproductive health services into the primary care setting.
This salon-style discussion brought together stakeholders in the fields of primary care and sexual/reproductive health to:
- Develop a deeper understanding of the barriers primary care providers may face when trying to integrate and improve delivery of reproductive health services;
- Discuss approaches and models that support a primary care organization’s ability to deliver high quality, comprehensive reproductive health services;
- Explore how to best integrate and coordinate services provided by primary care and specialty family planning providers; and
- Identify potential areas for future work, partnership and advocacy.
