Special PCDC Statement: Confronting Racism and Investing in Equity

This weekend, we witnessed yet another horrific display of hatred and racially motivated gun violence. Our hearts are broken for the victims of the Buffalo shooting and for their families, friends, and community.

The epidemic of hate and intolerance in this country impacts every one of us, with devastating impact on Black people and other people of color. Gun violence and systemic racism are two of the greatest public health crises of our time, and we must do everything we can to ensure our communities are protected from such harms.

PCDC remains committed to fighting racism and investing in equity for communities of color, and we stand with the victims’ families and the entire Black community that was targeted by this act of terrorism, allegedly by an 18-year-old white man.
