The Primary Care Investment Network (PCIN), convened by PCDC and established in 2023, is the nation’s leading network dedicated to advancing state-level primary care investment through collaboration, policy innovation, and shared learning.
The PCIN brings together policymakers, advocates, researchers, health care leaders, and implementation experts from across the country to strengthen primary care systems and improve health outcomes. As the network’s convener, PCDC fosters trusted relationships among state leaders, facilitates candid discussions on emerging policy challenges, and connects members with the expertise and practical experience needed to advance meaningful change.
Rather than promoting a one-size-fits-all approach, the PCIN recognizes that every state has a unique health care landscape. Through virtual convenings, in-person meetings, and expert-led discussions, members exchange lessons learned, explore innovative strategies, and adapt successful approaches to meet the needs of their communities. Topics have included state-level primary care investment advisory councils, investment measurement and target-setting, dashboards and reporting, and primary care workforce issues.
By creating a trusted forum for collaboration and knowledge sharing, PCDC is helping states accelerate progress toward stronger, more sustainable primary care systems. The PCIN empowers leaders to learn from one another, build lasting partnerships, and advance policies that support high-quality, equitable primary care nationwide.
The PCIN is funded by The Commonwealth Fund, the California Health Care Foundation, and the Milbank Memorial Fund.
