HIP Webinars

Overview

To supplement PCDC’s training and technical assistance programs, the HIP in Health Care team conducts informative webinars throughout the year that cover key topics in HIV diagnosis, management, and prevention.

These are free to join and include time for questions and answers. For those unable to join on the scheduled day and time, recordings are saved and available to view later.

The following is a complete list of PCDC’s webinars.

HIP in Health Care Webinar Series: “Patient-Centered HIV Prevention”

The Primary Care Development Corporation (PCDC) has helped hundreds of primary care practices become recognized patient-centered medical homes (PCMH), and is also funded by CDC to provide free HIV prevention capacity-building assistance to health care organizations across the country. Now PCDC is combining these programs in a six-part webinar series on patient-centered care and HIV prevention.

This webinar series will provide information on how HIV services can be aligned with the PCMH model. For providers working in HIV prevention and members of multidisciplinary teams (clinicians, administrators, medical assistants, case managers/social workers, counselors, navigators, et al.) this series will encourage you to assess your capacity for patient-centered care, and offers relevant and useful information.

Register for the series and join us, beginning March 9, to explore the intersection of HIV prevention and patient-centered care, and learn how these strategies can help expand and improve access to life-saving HIV testing, care, and treatment.

Webinar 1: Patient-Centered Access

The first webinar of our series will introduce the PCMH model, describing its history and recognizing bodies. The first principle – patient-centered access – will be described to include its relation to HIV prevention, care, and treatment for people living with, or at risk for, HIV in health care settings.

The common challenges encountered for practices while implementing patient-centered principles will be discussed and accompanied by practical tiered approaches in overcoming some of these barriers.
