Did you know that the nation’s first community health centers were launched in 1965 as a small demonstration program under President Johnson?

Learn more about the community health center movement through CHroniCles - The Community Health Center Story, a special joint project of the RCHN Community Health Foundation and the Geiger Gibson Program in Community Health Policy at the George Washington University. A dynamic, multi-media website dedicated to the living history of the community health center movement, CHroniCles allows viewers everywhere to pay a virtual visit to every community health center in the U.S. Showcasing contributed narratives, historical documents, photographs and videos, CHroniCles lets viewers see the positive impact CHCs have had, and continue to have, on individuals and neighborhoods across America. It reflects and truly conveys the NHCW theme of "Celebrating America's Health Centers: Serving Locally, Leading Nationally."
