Helping you prepare for, respond to and anticipate emergencies and disasters.
Primary care providers are vital sources of healthcare and support services at all times, and are often most trusted during an emergency because of their strong ties with the community, its culture and needs. Yet most health centers are not fully equipped to handle emergencies like natural disasters, disease outbreaks, or blackouts. Many cannot handle the unexpected challenges, such as high patient volume, trauma cases, breakdowns in communications systems, and contaminated patients. This can overwhelm emergency rooms with patients who could be better served by primary care providers.
PCDC has provided emergency preparedness and business continuity services to more than 100 health facilities across the United States, including emergency planning, staff training, drills and exercises, and community/regional planning. Our clients, on average, achieve a 40 to 50 percent increase in preparedness levels.
