PCDC has elected two new members to its Board of Directors: Donald L. Ashkenase, MHA, Special Advisor to the President of Montefiore Medical Center and Tanya Shah, MBA, MPH, Principal at Boston Consulting Group. In their new roles, Ashkenase and Shah will work with fellow board members to guide PCDC's strategic direction and provide financial oversight.

"With Mr. Ashkenase's decades of leadership and experience in New York's hospitals, and Ms. Shah's work in strategic planning, development, and consulting, they both bring an incredible amount of knowledge and expertise that will help advance PCDC's mission to expand primary care in underserved communities."
Donald L. Ashkenase, MHA has spent more than 20 years at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, as Executive Vice President, and has seen the organization grow to $3 billion in annual revenues and 3 million ambulatory care visits. He is presently, Special Advisor to the President. Prior to Montefiore, Ashkenase served as Chief Financial Officer of both the Long Island Jewish Medical Center and the New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation. Mr. Ashkenase is an Associate Adjunct Professor at the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health and has taught there since 1978. He holds a Bachelors degree from Brooklyn College and a Masters in Healthcare Administration from Wagner College.
Tanya Shah, MBA, MPH is a Principal in the New York office of The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and a member BCG's Healthcare Practice. Ms. Shah's recent experience includes planning and strategy design for pharmaceutical companies, including health technology assessments, access strategies, organizational strategic planning, marketing, manufacturing standards, and research and development. Prior to joining BCG, she held marketing positions with Pfizer and Guidant. While at Pfizer, Ms. Shah focused on managed care, consumer, and key opinion leader strategies. She also worked in the Healthcare Practice at Accenture, where she managed business process redesign and implementation initiatives for large payers. Tanya received her MBA and MPH from the Haas School of Business at the University of California at Berkeley.
