Vanessa joined PCDC in 2007 and serves as a project lead on two large scale projects; including a state-funded project focused on using health information exchange to the improve service coordination and quality of care for patients with mental health diagnoses and metabolic syndrome in South Brooklyn; and AccessNY, a project that improves access to primary medical care for Medicaid-eligible HIV+ New Yorkers currently not receiving treatment and strengthens care coordination and services to better retain clients in care. Vanessa brings strong leadership and management skills from seven years’ experience founding and running a Community Development Financial Institution that empowered low-income entrepreneurs. She received a BS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of California, Berkeley and masters degrees in Urban and Regional Planning and Environmental Studies from the University of Oregon.
