Karla Silverman

Karla Silverman joined PCDC in 2011 and has over ten years of on-the-ground, front lines experience providing primary care in medically underserved areas. Previously, she was the Director of Clinical Services at Planned Parenthood Hudson Peconic where she oversaw the delivery of family planning, gynecological and prenatal services in twelve health centers. A registered nurse, and certified nurse midwife, she worked for many years as a clinician providing care for patients in community health centers in the South Bronx and Washington Heights. At Planned Parenthood New York City she led a groundbreaking reproductive rights initiative to increase access to reproductive health services for women in medically underserved areas. Karla received her bachelor’s degree from Brown University and her master’s degree from Columbia University.
