New York State Primary Care Coalition

Founded in 2006 by PCDC and the Community Health Care Association of New York State, the New York State Primary Care Coalition includes the New York State Area Health Education Center (AHEC), the New York Chapter of the American College of Physicians, and the New York Sate Association of Family Physicians. This advocacy group is dedicated toward strenthening public policy in New York State that supports and sustains a strong, effective primary care sector. The Coalition's “the primary care agenda” includes:

1. Reform the payment system for primary care
2. Preserve and expand primary care workforce capacity
3. Build New York’s primary care infrastructure
4. Transform the current model of care into a patient-centered medical home
5. Aggressively promote the use and adoption of health information technology among providers of primary care services
