Alan D. Aviles is President of the New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation, the largest municipal public healthcare system in the United States. Mr. Aviles has served in various capacities at HHC since 1997, most recently as Senior Vice President of HHC's Queens Health Network, and Executive Director of Elmhurst Hospital Center. Prior to this, Mr. Aviles served as HHC's General Counsel and from 1997 to 2001, he served at Elmhurst Hospital Center, first as Associate Executive Director of Managed Care, then as Senior Executive Director for Business and Clinical Affairs, and finally as Deputy Executive Director. Mr. Aviles is a graduate of Columbia College and the Rutgers School of Law. He is a native of the Bronx and lives in Brooklyn, New York. In 2007, Mr. Aviles was named as a recipient of Modern Healthcare magazine’s CEO IT Achievement Award, and as one of Modern Healthcare’s 100 Most Powerful People in Healthcare, for the second consecutive year.
